Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Supply List
All 7th and 8th grade students will need a BLACK 1� binder and at
least 10 page protectors for their band music. We will purchase
page protectors in bulk and have them here for students to purchase
at 10 for $1.00. They also need a pencil pouch to put in their
binder, a pencil and a highlighter (any light color).
Band students need to start the year with the following supplies and
these may need to be replenished as the year progresses. Beginning
Oct. 1st, we will place bulk reed orders for clarinets, saxophones,
oboes and bassoons to help you purchase reeds at a better price.
You�ll receive info about this around the middle of September!
FLUTES: Tuning rod, Cotton (OK) or Silk (Best!) swab, Flutist
Friend (combination flip folder and lyre for flute players)
OBOES: At least three medium reeds (see Ms. Camacho for brand),reed
case, cork grease, Cotton (OK) or Silk (Best!) swab, flip folder
BASSOONS: At least three medium reeds (see Ms. Camacho for brand),
reed case, cork grease, Cotton (OK) or Silk (Best!) swab, flip folder
CLARINETS: At least four Vandoren V-12 clarinet reeds strength 3 or
3 �, reed guard, cork grease, Cotton (OK) or Silk (Best!) swab,
clarinet lyre and flip folder
SAXOPHONES: At least four Vandoren V-16 saxophone reeds strength 3
or 3 �, reed guard, cork grease, Cotton (OK) or Silk (Best!) swab
with no metal brush, saxophone lyre and flip folder.
TRUMPET: Al Cass valve oil, trumpet snake, flip folder and trumpet
lyre.
FRENCH HORNS: Rotary valve oil, French horn snake, flip folder and
clip on lyre.
TROMBONES: Trombone Slide Cream , trombone snake, flip folder and
trombone lyre.
BARITONES: Al Cass valve oil, baritone snake, long straight lyre
and flip folder.
TUBAS: Al Cass valve oil and flip folder
PERCUSSIONISTS: Stick bag, SD1 General snare sticks, Mike
Balter �dark green� 5B mallets or equivalent, flip folder, IF
POSSIBLE Vic Firth T2 timpani mallets
LYRE INFO: Saxophones, Trumpets and Trombones should take their
horns to the music store to buy the correct lyre that will fit their
instrument.
