Welcome to a new year at Cactus Ranch Elementary!
My name is Kim Carter and this will be my tenth year in the teaching
profession. I am a native of Ohio and received my undergraduate degree from
The Ohio State University. This means TWO things: 1)I will be teaching your
students the Buckeye Battle Cry, and 2) NO MICHIGAN SHIRTS!!!
I taught for three years in Ohio before following my parents down here
to Austin, and taught three years in Austin ISD before arriving in Round
Rock. I don't know if you believe in fate, but I feel very strongly that
every decision I've made in the past, whether it be moving or changing
schools, has led me here to your kids and I am so excited!!!
Soccer is my favorite sport and I've been playing since I was 6. I play
on three soccer teams around Austin and try to fit in a little running and
swimming when I can.
I like to have after school clubs because I love that relaxed,
personal, one to one time with the students. Look for information late
September about a running club and a chess club!
My parents, who live in Driftwood, enjoy coming in to help with the
after school activities and tutorials, so you and your student will have an
opportunity to know them as well. They're great!
