PTA's greatest asset and resource is our membership. Without our members, it would not be possible for us to function as an active PTA. Our goal this year is to increase our membership by at least 10%. We need our parents to help us meet this goal!
We hear many different excuses as to why people don't want to join PTA. Here are the Top Ten Excuses for NOT joining PTA:
#10 - I don't have time.
Joining PTA means supporting your school and the students. We will not hold you to a time commitment you are not able to make.
#9 - I'm already a member of another PTA.
I recently checked with the Round Rock police department and it is totally legal to be a member of more than one PTA!
#8 - PTA is just a clique.
PTA a group of very involved parents working together to benefit our school and students. Everyone is welcome!
#7 - I work full time.
Again, we're not asking you to make a time commitment, just to support us be joining.
#6 - I'm not interested in organizing a carnival.
You're all safe this year - we already have a Hoedown Chairperson!
#5 - Those women scare me!!
Okay...you got me on that one.
#4 - All the PTA does is ask for money.
I realize it has seemed this way in the past. We have worked very hard over the last few years to change when and how much we ask of our parents.
#3 - I don't want to be that involved.
There are many different levels of involvement and we're happy to have parents and families at all levels of involvement!
#2 - There's nothing in it for me.
Being a member of PTA enables you to have a voice at your local campus and vote on issues that affect the students and families of Cactus Ranch.
