Math SuperStars is an exciting extracurricular program designed to enhance your child’s math experience. The program is completely voluntary, but is a great opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge of and appreciation for mathematics. (The Kindergarten program will begin in January. Keep an eye out on Tuesday folders for start dates and more information.)
Each Tuesday, a new grade-level worksheet will be posted on the Cactus Ranch website under the MathSuperStars link. If your child chooses to participate, the grade-level appropriate worksheet can be printed out at home and completed. Upon completion, your child should return the worksheet for grading by the following Tuesday. Each week’s worksheet will remain on the website for a period of three weeks, but once removed, will not be accessible again. Students wishing to complete all worksheets should plan on doing so throughout the year, as there will be no making up earlier worksheets later in the year.
Upon completion of their first worksheet, students will be awarded by having their name placed on the Math SuperStars bulletin board, which can be found in the CRE cafeteria. For each additional completed worksheet, students will earn one ticket.
-
Students (1st-5thgrade) who earn 15 tickets (out of a possible 24) will be invited to an end-of-year Math SuperStars party, where they’ll enter their tickets into a grade-level prize drawing. Kindergarten students who earn 6 tickets (out of a possible 10) will be invited to the end-of-year Math SuperStars party, where they’ll enter their tickets into a kindergarten drawing. Separate drawings will be held for each grade level, K-5.
-
Students who earn fewer than 15 tickets will have their tickets entered into a school-wide Math SuperStars prize drawing to be held at the completion of the program. The winner of that drawing will be notified at that time.
Please encourage your student to complete as many grade-level worksheets as possible. We’d LOVE to have them at the end-of-year party!
Please note - Students may complete additional worksheets, but tickets will only be earned for grade-level work. For example, a 1st grader may complete the 1st grade and 2nd grade worksheets, but tickets will only be awarded for the 1st grade worksheets.
Thank you for allowing your child the opportunity to participate in this exciting math adventure!
Please contact Math SuperStars Coordinator, Robin Winkles at math.superstars@crepta.org with any questions.
Final day for turning in worksheets is Friday, April 26th.
End-of-year party information will be coming home soon!
