On behalf of the Cactus Ranch Elementary PTA, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful CRE families for a fantastic year! Your support has been overwhelming this year and we appreciate our families so much! Please view the most recent list of CRE PTA highlights from this year that have been uploaded to our website on the "2012-2013 Highlights" tab. PTA has donated over 10,000 volunteer hours and approximately $90,000 to our CRE staff and students and we could not be more proud!
As parents, it is extremely important to be involved in our children's education. PTA is a vital link between home, school and community. It is the largest child advocacy volunteer group in America and speaks on behalf of children who cannot affect change for themselves. The PTA's budget is based solely on membership dues, school-wide and tax-deductible donations. I encourage you to become an active participant in our school and community by becoming a member of CRE PTA. Membership in PTA allows parents to have a stronger voice in how PTA funds are allocated, what kinds of and events are planned and how to best support our school. Another benefit of PTA membership comes in the form of discounts from places such as Sea World, Schlitterbahn, La Quinta and Six Flags to name only a few. Please consider joining PTA today!
We are always in need of volunteers on many levels. Without our generous volunteers, events like out Back to School Howdy, Hoedown and Family Nights would not be possible. WE have volunteer opportunities for every time and commitment level - there is always something to fit very schedule. Please check out the volunteer form to see what best fits your schedule.
With time, talent and monetary support, CRE families help CRE PTA accomplish great things for the students, teachers and families of Cactus Ranch. This year, the PTA has provided the student agendas for grades 1-5, continues to help support and/or coordinate wonderful programs including Watch DOGS, Math SuperStars, Spelling Bee, Math Pentathlon, Reflections, Science Fair and more. We provided funds to CRE to purchase a shade structure for the large playground in an amount of over $25,000!!! In addition, CRE PTA helps maintain the district's Clothes Closet, providing clothing to children in need. A new event that we added last year was our spring play production of C Charlotte's Web. This year, we will be performing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in February. YOU helped make it a smashing success last year. We are asking for your support again this year!
