2nd Grade Homework:
Cactus Ranch has established homework policies for each grade level.
Second grade’s policy includes reading with your child daily for 20 minutes
and spending additional time on other assignments or projects. Homework for
a second grader should not be more than thirty minutes a day. Homework will
be sent home on Fridays and should be returned on Thursdays. If Homework is
not turned in by Friday morning, then it will be marked late.
Please have your child record their reading each day in their agenda. You
can sign or initial next to the name of the book. We expect the kids to
have books recorded in their agenda at least 4 times a week. We will be
checking the agendas each Friday.
Homework for week of April 27th:
Spelling Paragraph
“Sick”-Poem by Shel Silverstein
Read this paragraph everyday. Study the punctuation in every sentence and
the spelling of all words. Practice writing it at least once a day.
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button’s caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle’s sprained,
My appendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb,
I have a sliver in my thumb.
Day #1: Write the paragraph
Day #2: Spelling words activity
Day #3: Write your paragraph again
Day #4: Spelling Test in class
Day #5: Get your new paragraph
