Dear Fifth Graders and Families,
I hope this year proves to be an exciting and productive one for you. There
are so many wonderful opportunities for learning and growth. I hope to share
my love of knowledge with every child, and maybe spark that love in each of
you.
In case you are not familiar with me I would like to share a little about
myself. I have been married for 22 years, and we have three wonderful boys.
Austin is in college and Devan is a freshman at Round Rock High School. My
youngest, Eli, is in sixth grade at Walsh. I will truly miss having a child in
the same school as me. They are growing up so fast.
I love animals. In addition to my class pets, our family has two dogs, two
cats, another bearded dragon, one leopard gecko, and a reef tank. I keep
adding to our private zoo, but I am trying to "just say no" to more animals.
As for my teaching career, it began in San Antonio. I taught Kinder for two
years and a combined Pre-K/Kinder class for a year. We moved to Aubrey
(outside of Denton) when my husband was transferred to the Dallas region.
There I taught fifth grade for a year, third grade for four years, and a
combined 3rd/4th grade class for one year. We had the opportunity to move
closer to our family in a great area, so here we are.
It is hard to believe that this is my seventeenth year of teaching and my
eighth year, teaching fifth grade, here at Cactus Ranch.
Our fifth grade team and school strive to improve the learning environment
and success of every student. I am blessed to be a part of this great
educational community. I am committed to do my best to help guide students on
the road to success as independent learners and thinkers.
