About The Teacher
Hi - - - My name is Cindy Fizzell and I am thrilled to be a part of the Music department at Cactus Ranch. This is my 4th year at Cactus Ranch! YAHOO! I went to college in New York and received my Music Education Degree from SUNY Fredonia. I moved to Texas in 1980 to study Opera at UT Austin. I received my Masters Degree in 'Curriculum and Instruction' with a minor in Opera in 1983. I have been married for 30 years and have 3 wonderful children. My husband, Mike, is a concert violinist and an orchestra conductor. He is also a minister. Our son Ben is 27 and is a pilot for the Army - he flies Kiowa Warrior Helicopters - Earlier this year he completed a tour of duty in Iraq. Ben plays the violin & piano. He and his beautiful wife, Meredith, currently live in Kansas. (No grandkids yet!) :) Tim our second son is 24 and is a missionary - currently working in Georgia and has the opportunity to travel around the world. Tim plays the cello. Annie our only girl is 11 and loves to sing, draw, play her violin and read. I enjoy teaching very much but in my spare time I enjoy camping, boating, fishing, hiking and reading. I am looking forward to another fun filled musical year with my friends at Cactus Ranch!!! We'll be "Makin' Music Through the Decades"!!! . .

To learn more about our world and the people in it by studying the music of many cultures. To learn to read and write in the musical language - so that we can share our music with others!!
