Dear Cactus Ranch Family,
Welcome to Fourth Grade!!! Hopefully, you had a wonderful summer break.
I’m blessed to have another opportunity to facilitate learning for your
child.
I would like to tell you a little about my professional and personal life.
This is my 18th year of teaching (public school) and my sixth year teaching
at Cactus Ranch. While I am a native TEXAN, I’ve only lived in Round Rock
for six years. My husband and I have four children (one boy, three girls)
and just as many grandchildren (one boy, three girls). I am blessed with a
large family. My mom and dad have eight children, twenty-four
grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. We all spend every holiday
and many weekends together. I’m the only one of eight children to live away
from home. So, when I have summer overnight guests, the number is usually
in the double-digits. I love to fish, read, write poetry, watch birds,
admire nature, and just spend time with my family. The last two years, my
students and I practiced scrapbooking. Learning to fly-fish is a skill I
hope to acquire this year.
I would like to invite you to visit the classroom on Friday, August 21 from
5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Your child will have an opportunity to drop off any school
supplies at that time. Our classroom is room 209, located upstairs. This
will give them a chance to see our new classroom before the first day of
school. If you aren't able to make it Friday night, I’ll see you at 7:45 a.m.
on Tuesday, August 25th.
It is my desire to make fourth grade a memorable year for every student I
teach. I'm exciting about the many things your child will bring to this
class and the skills, experiences, and memories we will all take away from
here.
Sincerely,
Etta Moton
