Howdy Cactus Ranch Families,
I am so excited to be teaching fifth grade again at Cactus Ranch this year! This is my eleventh year in the teaching profession and my seventh year here at Cactus Ranch and I just love it.
I graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station in December of 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught fourth grade at Bee Cave Elementary in Lake Travis ISD for three years before moving back to College Station in 2004 to pursue my master’s degree at Texas A&M. While in College Station I taught fifth grade at Crockett Elementary School in Bryan ISD. I decided to move back to Austin after missing my family and friends and ended up here at Cactus Ranch. I graduated with my master’s degree from Texas A&M University in Curriculum and Instruction in December 2007. I am a die-hard Aggie which isn't hard to figure out if you have visited my classroom! :)
I am originally from Galveston, Texas. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy doing anything outside in the sun including watersports and swimming. Gymnastics is another one of my hobbies. I was a member of the gymnastics team at Texas A&M. I also love animals. I have two cats who I adore!
My classroom is a very open and pleasant environment where the children will be actively engaged in fun and authentic ways of learning essential fifth grade skills and beyond. I am delighted to have your child in my classroom and I look forward to a new and productive year!
