Dear Second Grade Families,  <o:p></o:p>
            Thank you to all the parents for making our 2nd grade Howdy and Welcome Walk a success!  Also, thank you in advance to all those parents who have already signed up to volunteer in their child’s classroom.  Your help is invaluable!  In addition to reading these Friday newsletters, make sure you are checking the websites for more specialized information about your child’s class.<o:p></o:p>
            We have had a wonderful first week learning and reviewing all the procedures and expectations here at CRE!  We have been really concentrating on teaching the students our five Character Traits to earn Longhorn Stars.  They are: Honesty, Orderly, Respectful, Neighborly, and Self Disciplined.  When our students show these behaviors, they are rewarded with a Longhorn Star!  We have also done many team building activities and lessons and have enjoyed making new friends.<o:p></o:p>
Homework for this week will be three spelling activities with the paragraph and their Reading Log recorded in their agenda.  Please read 4 nights a week for a minimum of 20 minutes.  We will begin Math homework next week.  Please don’t forget to sign their agenda!        <o:p></o:p>
