Mrs. Alicia Gomes
Cactus Ranch Elementary School
5th Grade
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with two Bachelor Degrees in
History and Economics. I then moved to the beautiful Islands of Hawaii where
I received a Masters Degree in Education. I taught 5th grade and middle
school for the first 5 years in Honolulu. I am very happy to be returning
back to Cactus Ranch for a second year. As you may already know I taught the
4th grade last year and am overjoyed to join the 5th grade team.
This past year has been one of the most exciting years of my life. I moved
to Round Rock last July, got married in October, and recently had a beautiful
baby boy (Christian) this July 14th.
I truly enjoy being a teacher and working with children as they offer so many
different perspectives about life and solving problems. It is this unique
perspective that brings great joy to my career. As a teacher I have always
held high expectations for all of my students. I believe if you continue to
support, believe in, and guide a child, they can achieve anything. This is the
foundation passed on from my own parents. This foundation is what guides my
teaching philosophy.
We can succeed above and beyond our expectations. If we take a chance, believe
in ourselves, and never give up, we can do anything we put our minds to.
