OCTOBER FAMILY FUN WORK DUE Oct. 16, 2009
We are sending this paper for you and your child to create a career doll at
home. You can help your child with this project, but please do not do it
entirely for him/her!
First, trace your child’s body and then you can work with your child to think
of ways to decorate it to represent the occupation your child would like to
pursue. You may use markers, crayons, pieces of fabric, buttons, paint,
colored construction paper, yarn or whatever you can find at home. Be
creative—there is no need to buy materials. Then use the words provided to
help your child label the body parts. When you and your child are finished
with this project and it is completely dry, please return it to school.
Don’t forget to write your child’s name and occupation on the back!!
Please remember that the purpose of these Family Projects is not only to have
fun with your family, but to encourage Kindergarten speaking and listening
skills. Learning to be an audience and ask questions or share compliments
and comments are important skills for Kindergarten students.
Thanks!!
