Dear Families,
Students are asked to bring in decorated shoeboxes as soon as possible. Boxes need a hole cut into the top and the student's name written boldly on top. Thanks to those who have already brought in their decorated box! Valentines for classmates may come in on, or before Friday! A list of student names was sent in last week's Tuesday folder.
February Scholastic Book Orders are due this Friday. Remember you can order books online. Username is MrsBiggers4Class, password: ClubOrders. Some students received a gift certificate for $5.00 or less from ordering books last month. This is a great month to us that gift certificate.
Cruise Write-Along EDITORS Needed Feb. 16-19:
Please consider signing up as an editor during the week of Cruise Write-Along. Training will be held in Mrs. Hardison's classroom Monday, February 8th from 3:00-3:30. Thanks so much to the following editors for signing up: Carol Wada, Hang Tran, and Venkat Danda
Six Flags Six Hour Reading Club:
The Six Flags Reading Log will replace our class reading log until February 23, 2010. Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading between Tuesday, Jan. 26th and Tuesday, Feb. 23rd will receive a free admission ticket to Six Flags Fiesta Texas! Please encourage your child to record their reading and sign the green reading log that was sent home in the Tuesday folder last week. Hopefully our class will have 100% participation
A note from the counselor: Hi there Comets! Congratulations to students who received a "Trustworthy" sticker during the month of January! February is known as the month of love, so why not spread love and kindness to your friends? During the month of January, our character trait is FRIENDSHIP. This month, we'll be looking for good examples of friendship. If you help a friend in need or if your teacher catches you treating friends in class with respect, kindness, and empathy then you may receive a "friendship" sticker to wear all day telling everyone you exhibited our character trait of the month! Good Luck Comets and remember....CHARACTER COUNTS AT CANYON CREEK!!
