Dear Parents,

Happy November! What a beautiful week we’ve had! And the moon has been so visible at both morning and night! Keep recording those phases of the moon!

Happy Birthday to McKenna (11-14). She will be our Star of the Week.  We look forward to learning more about our special star on Friday!

Thanks to the PTA the fourth grade teachers enjoyed an extended lunch period Thursday.  What a treat to have lunch off campus instead of my usual Lean Cuisine in the teachers' lounge.

Next Wednesday, November 11, is an early release day so teachers can attend staff development.  Your child will be dismissed at 12:45.

Book orders went out in this week’s Tuesday folder. This weekend’s a perfect time for some holiday shopping at home without the crowds. Keep in mind, orders can be made by going directly to the Scholastic website and placing your order online. I’ve attached easy directions for you to follow. You may also just send in the paper order if you like, and I will submit your order. All orders must be placed by Friday November 13th. This will provide ample time for orders to come in prior to the winter holiday season.

Science Day will be on our Early Release Day of 11/11! If you would like to help out with this fun day from 9-12 please contact Liz Green at 257-1060 or lgreen69@gmail.com

Brownie Troop 676 is collecting old batteries to recycle.  Instead of throwing your batteries away this year, please send them to the school so the Brownies can dispose of them properly at a hazardous waste center.  Thank you for supporting this effort to "Go Green".

CCE is having a poster contest to promote energy awareness in our school, homes, and community.  There will be one winner from each grade level.  The winning posters will be placed on the Watt Watchers wall for the remainder of the school year.  Directions:  Entries must be on paper 8 ½” X 11”.  All posters must be 2 dimensional. The student's name and teacher’s name must be on the back of the poster. The deadline to turn posters in to the front office is Friday, November 30.

Please come to our next Brown Bag Parent Meeting on Friday, 11/13, from 7:45 - 8:45 am in the library. Our campus counselor, Jan Mc Call, will present, "The Impact Of Birth Order On Parenting."   Characteristics of each birth order – oldest, middle, only child, etc. will be discussed as well as giving tips on how to parent your child more effectively and with more understanding. Questions can be sent to maryanne_hettenhaus@roundrockisd.org .

We are in need of some Lysol wipes for our daily desk cleaning. If you can donate some wipes, that would be great. Let’s keep our classroom a healthy learning environment. Thank you in advance.
