Dear Parents,

Wow, can you believe that the holiday season is just about here? This week is going to be busy, but fun. Excitement is certainly in the air! Due to this busy week, we will not be having a spelling test and the green reading log. This is welcome news, I’m sure! We’ll start back up in January.

I really appreciate you letting your child stay after school Friday to say goodbye to Mrs. Pardue. Thank you for donating money towards her gift card! You all are very generous!  I know the Visa card will help her toward setting up her own classroom with the things she needs once she knows what grade level she needs to buy for!  Special thanks to our room moms, Bernadette and Lisa, for bringing in the yummy cake and refreshments for our send-off party! We wish Mrs. Pardue the best!

Our class holiday party is on Friday, Dec. 18, 1:50-2:45. All parents are invited to attend. Hope to see you! As another reminder, due to school policy and space limitations, having siblings at the party is not allowed. This is a special time for fourth graders and their parents so please set up childcare plans early. Contact MaryAnne Hettenhaus at maryanne_hettenhaus@roundrockisd.org  if you wish to participate in the online childcare services during our party.

Thank you to Bernadette R. and Lisa D., our wonderful homeroom moms, for coordinating this week's holiday party!  We appreciate all of the parents who are helping out with Friday festivities, too!  Your energy, support, and enthusiasm are wonderful!

Registration is now open for the Science Fair at http://www.canyoncreekpta.com/ScienceFair/sfregister.php.

Hopefully I’ll see you before the holiday break but if not, I wish you and your family the happiest holiday season ever! It has been my pleasure to be a part of your child's academic success this semester. How far we have come since August! I look forward to our second semester together. We have worked hard and deserve a much needed rest. Thank you for your support of what I am so committed to doing here at school.
