News for the Week of November 9th:

 

This past week was filled with fun fall activities sprinkled with some spider ones too.  Next week we will be learning about Thanksgiving with our focus on Native Americans. Everyone did a great  job returning reader folders this week. Remember they need to be returned daily.

EARLY RELEASE
:  This Wednesday, Nov. 11th is Early Release. Students will be released at 12:45. Bears will have lunch at 10:35 on this day.

 

TURKEY HOMEWORK: Please send your decorated turkey to school with your child on Monday! Your child will be presenting their turkey to the class.


NEEDS: Each child will need an empty paper towel tube for an activity this week. Please send in by Wednesday. If you have extras please send them as well. Also, we are in need of glue sticks. Please send one in with your child to be put in their school box. Extra glue sticks also greatly appreciated. Thanks!

REPORT CARDS:  The papers inside the envelope are yours to keep but please sign the brown report card envelope and return it Monday if you have not already done so. These envelopes will be used for the entire year. The following students have not returned their envelopes: Daniel, Saaketh, Ishwori, Sriya, Jacob, Jake, Carlos and Helena.

BOOK ORDERS: November book orders due Friday, November 13th. The order forms went home in last week's Tuesday folder but I just now set up the on-line ordering. Sorry for the delay. If your order is to be kept a secret for the holidays let me know so we can arrange a discreet pick-up time when your books arrive.
 
MONTHLY CHARACTER TRAIT: Responsibility. Congratulations to Michelle and Siddhant for earning a special sticker this week.

CCE’s 1st OUTREACH DRIVE FOR THIS YEAR:  Will benefit Hill Country Community Ministries and run from Nov. 2-13. Donations needed are bar soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo and toothpaste (full or travel size). Please place all items in the container located in the main hallway.

 

SCIENCE FAIR LEAD NEEDED: Calling all very well organized individuals. You will coordinate all the judging volunteers. To be held Jan. 21-22. Contact Marisa Sladek at Marisa@sladeks.com

Please join us for our next Brown Bag Parent Meeting on Friday, November 13, 7:45 - 8:45 am in the CCE Library.  Our campus counselor, Jan Mc Call, will present, “The Impact Of Birth Order On Parenting.” We will be discussing characteristics of each birth order – oldest, middle, only child, etc and giving tips on how to parent your child more effectively and with more understanding.
