News for the week of January 4th:
WOW! What a great last week before our holiday break. The Bears worked
hard to complete all the special projects and gifts for our families. Of course
our field trip to Zachary Scott to see the Holiday Heroes was entertaining, funny
and exciting. It was a fantastic event! Mrs. Long, the Assistant Principal during Mrs. Baker's maternity leave, came in to read us a beautiful version of Twas the Night Before Christmas. The students enjoyed meeting her. On Friday we enjoyed the school-wide sing-a-long. Of course the best part of the week was our holiday party. Thanks so much to Mrs. Cowman for all of her work organizing things.
Thank you also to all the parents who came in. A good time was had by all!
When we return in January, we will start off with discussing the new year, We will be reviewing classroom procedures and an introduction to our Winter unit - weather, winter animals, ice and snow. We will also use the book The Mitten in language arts and math activities. Usually the transition back to school in January goes smoothly, they are happy to be back with friends and they are comfortable with our routines. I'm looking forward to it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL - HOPE EVERYONE IS READY TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING ON TUESDAY!

REPORT CARDS: Reports cards will be sent home with your child in the Tuesday folder on January 12. Please make sure you sign the envelope and return it just like the last time.
MITTENS: We will be using mittens in various math activities when we return to school. Please send a pair in with your child so that we can use them for math. They will be returned daily but used throughout the week. If you do not have mittens please send in a pair of gloves.
