News and Information Week of Nov. 16th

This week we began our study of Thanksgiving by focusing on the Native Americans. We discussed how they lived, what they wore and their very important role in the first Thanksgiving. We discussed the symbolic language that they used and tried to use it ourselves. We also made vests and headbands! Next week we will be discussing the Pilgrim lifestyle and the importance of their friendship with the Native Americans. During the week we will learn about their way of life and may pilgrim costumes. As we move closer to Thanksgiving we will continue with some fun turkey activities and continue discussing what we are thankful for in our lives.

SUPER STAR: Carson– We look forward to learning all about this special bear!
BOOK ORDERS: Thanks to everyone who ordered from Scholastic. If you would like for it to be a surprise, please let me know. I will have it opened through Friday, November 20th ordering.

PICTURE RETAKES: Make-ups will be on Wednesday, December 2. Students must return the unwanted packet in order to have another picture made. A note from parents telling the photographer what they did not like about the photo is very helpful, as well. Those that were absent on Picture Day (Weds. Oct 21) will have their pictures made and anyone who did not order before can have a picture taken on Dec. 2. Order forms are available in the office.
