*****Very Important Information: Parents, if you wish you may help your child
celebrate his/her birthday in school by bringing a birthday snack to the
cafeteria at lunch time. The state of Texas has imposed some very strict
guidelines to follow when food is brought in to share with other students.
Please be sure to carefully consult the Texas guidelines being sent home in
next week’s Tuesday Folder or you may choose to use the following website

20final%208.04.pdf). It would be a good idea to keep this flyer handy
throughout the school year. Snacks and treats that do not fall within the
acceptable category will be prohibited from being served, as mandated by the
state of Texas. Thank you in advance to following these new guidelines.
*****Suggestion: Last year each of my students chose to bring in a very small
item to give each of his/her classmates as an alternative sharing a food
snack in the cafeteria. This was a huge hit and it eliminated any possibility
of a food item being sent wasn’t on the acceptable list. Some items I recall
from last year were bubbles, notepads, bouncy balls, word search books, and
airplane pens. Oriental Trading Company would be a great resource in finding
fun items.
