I began teaching in 1999, and have been at Canyon Vista since 2001. My first
class of 6th grade World Cultures students graduated from Westwood in June,
2008.
I am originally from Buffalo, New York, and have lived in Texas since I was
in 8th grade. I went to college at Texas A&M, where I met my
husband. We have been married since 1996. My mother lives in Texas, and my
dad still lives in Buffalo, so my summer vacations usually involve traveling
with my daughter to visit her grandparents. We love animals, and our family
currently has 2 cats but, I suspect we will be adding to our family soon.
I enjoy reading, looking at maps, doing crossword puzzles, and watching game
shows (my favorites are Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune). I collect pandas, can
recite the alphabet backwards. know the words to many songs and commercial
jingles, and am a vegetarian.
1. Introduce Social Studies concepts to my class. This will give them a
foundation for all their other Social Studies classes.
2. Promote tolerance and respect for other cultures.
