Class Rules: Be safe. Be responsible. Be respectful. Consequences: Students not following Caraway rules will earn a consequence. Each student has a behavior sheet for every nine weeks that will be kept in a folder in the classroom. If a student is warned more than once for a particular behavior, I will sign the behavior folder and list the behavior and consequence for that behavior. Every Monday the behavior folder will be sent home with the Monday folder for you to view. Please initial so that I know you have acknowledged the signing. Behavior folders will be returned to class on Tuesday. Students need to try to stay above the "good behavior line" on the behavior sheet. Each 9 weeks, the behavior line moves up, allowing less signatures, as we expect that all 4th graders know appropriate behavior. Rewards: Students will be rewarded for outstanding behavior with class tickets. Tickets will be redeemed on a chosen day for prizes given by the teacher. Students are also rewarded with "Owl Awards" by any teacher in the school when he/she exemplifies the three rules listed above. Those awards will be put in a drawing for something special to be decided by Mrs. Vrazel, Hohmann and Laskowski. Students will also be rewarded with a 9 weeks party if they have no signatures below the "good behavior line" on the behavior sheet. (See "Consequences" section.) Daily Assignment: Daily assignments will be given a grade unless otherwise noted. Some projects will be given a for the entire project rather than for individual parts. Any daily assignment not finished in class is homework unless the student decides to utilize study hall to get caught up. If a student take homework, please assume it is due the next day. Homework and Planners: Students will be assigned homework throughout the week. Students may also have homework that resulted from unfinished class assignments. Every student is responsible for writing down homework assignments in their daily planner. The planner must be signed nightly by a parent to show that the parent and student was aware of any assigned homework or other things that need to be returned to school the next day. Students will also use the planner as a reminder to study for a test or any other upcoming event. Any missing homework will result in the teacher signing the behavior folder. Students will also be excused from recess the day homework is due to allow the students to make up the homework. Other information: Tardies are counted after 7:45. A child will be counted absent if they are not present by 9:00. A doctor's note will be used to excuse the absence. If your child is sick, please notify me or Mrs. Richards in the office on the day of the absence if possible, or send a note with your child when he/she returns to school.
