class, and Tuesday for Mrs. Naylor's class.

Our unit of study on Earth's forces will include: tectonic plate movement, weathering, erosion, and
deposition, volcanic activity and earthquakes. We will be working in this unit for approximately three
weeks. The assessment date has not been set.

Language Arts: Complete novel study of Running Out of Time.

We have completed reading Running Out of Time! Our final project for the book is a book bingo style
report with book review. This will give us good practice for our next independent book bingo
assignment. The Running Out of Time book report is due this Friday, November 20.

Book bingo report organizers will come home this week. They are bright green, and are due on
December 7. The green book bingo report organizer is for our independent book bingo report.

Final copy of book bingo #2 is due on December 14.

Our non-fiction work this week includes Time for Kids magazine, and a short book about island
formation.

Students in fifth grade will be completing a reading comprehension practice as homework every
Wednesday. It will usually be a two-sided sheet, and will be used with a story from the reading book.

Social Studies: Students are studying Colonial Williamsburg, chapter 9 in the social studies book.
