November 23, 2009
Thanks to everyone that brought in canned goods. I hope the orange will come out of my hair eventually, and I now know the words to the longhorn fight song. Thanks to Ms. Hohmann for loaning me the UT tee-shirt. I am really proud of all of you for meeting your goal with the food drive and best of all helping others at the same time. It helps us realize how fortunate we are at Thanksgiving.
Please remember your reading minutes for the month of November will be due at the end of the month and November is a short month. Don't forget to read over the Thanksgiving break because you will still need to read a minimum of 600 minutes .
In math we will continue to study graphing.
In social studies
we will write our letter about Colonial Williamsburg for the assessment.
Science with Ms. Bray will be about tectonic plates of the earth.
We will begin continue studying poetry and figurative language. We will study alliteration, onimatapia and rhyme schemes. We will not have reading homework this week.
The spelling assessment will come home in the folder. Please have the test signed if the grade is below a 70. There will be no spelling assessment this week, but the secret word is linear.
