Each student has a Reading Calendar in their yellow folder. They are responsible for recording the amount of time they read each night and having their parents initial that date. Our goal for second grade is to read 400 minutes per month. On a monthly basis this would equal five nights out of the week reading 20 minutes. This can be silent sustained reading for students who are capable. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me. Each calendar is due at the beginning of the following month. Ex. August calendar is due September 2nd.

I will give rewards for those students who turn in their calendars and meet their goals. At the end of the year we will have a reading party to celebrate those students who turn in and meet their reading goals each month.
