Our 4th Grade Last Day! We are eating Pizza (NOT from the RRISD kitchens) or lunch so each student will need to bring a drink. If pizza is not your thing, bring a lunch. We will not be able to order from the kitchen. We will have some game day time. If you want you may bring a game. NO INTERNET games. Only school appropriate games may come on campus. While we will go out for recess, we will be eating in the air conditioning in the room. :) The play on Thursday was outstanding if you were unfortunate enough to have to miss it. I'm not sure who was cheering more; the parents or the teachers. We are SO proud of all 121 of the students who put heart and soul into a great production! I am writing thank you notes, but all of you have helped all year long. Of course, I love the wagon and little goodies along the way, including my favorite, apples. Mostly, thank you for bringing your precious child this year. Report cards are going home Friday afternoon. Included is a letter from the 5th grade teachers; nothing new, but a continuation of expectations from 4th grade. Also is an original composition by Reed's class in Music, with a Chicken theme... hmmm. Our students deserve a break, we've worked really hard all year. As I review a few September examples I am amazed at how much they've grown, (but not surprised). On that note, please recall the District note that STAAR information will be delayed until winter. Congratulations new 5th graders! I hope all have safe and eventful summers. Adventure is sometimes encountered when we least expect it. I hope all of you find adventures in books we read and outdoor experiences and the people we play with. We've worked hard, go play hard!Dear Parents and Students Who Arrive at School Via Carlwood:
Our wonderful crossing guard at Carlwood and Vallecito, Gigi Sachtleben, is hanging up her stop sign after six years of performing this role. As you know, Gigi always has a big smile on her face and takes her role very seriously, ensuring the safety of your children. Gigi's two children, who are in college and high school, attended Caraway, and she has been and always will be an important part of our community. I wanted to make you aware of her plans, because so many of you speak to her each day and she is too humble to tell you that she is leaving. If you could bring her a flower or a card, or simply thank her for her excellent work ethic, I would greatly appreciate it. She is a special lady!
Thank you,
