4th Grade - We are working on revisions to our mysteries. After conferencing with two of their peers, fourth graders will sign up for a teacher conference. They will work on leads, endings, getting rid of "to be" verbs, word choice, and sentence beginnings. Students will receive a copy of the grading rubric and writing assessment page so they know the grading expectations on their mysteries stories.

They have each checked out a mystery book that should be at least 150 pages and are to have completed reading them by Dec. 11. 2009.

3rd Grade - We, too, are working on revising our mystery stories and will receive a grading rubric and writing assessments sheet to know expectations. We are reading Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief by Wendelin Van Draannen. Sammy is a young gumshoe trying to solve the theft of money.

Parents and Students - Please check at home, in backpacks, desks, etc. for three missing booklets from Scholastic in the Investigating Mystery series. We are missing #1, #2, and #5. These were borrowed and need to be found and returned.
