Kindergarten Enrichment students are focusing on rhyme and rhythm. They join
in on repeated chorusing of rhythmic language, respond in discussions,
interact as they dramatize poems and share familiar poetry.
First Grade Enrichment students will be reading and writing about Fairy Tales
during the first few weeks. They are making a "flip book" about Fairy Tale
characters. Also another point of view of various tales will be explored. A
year long activity will involve reading and solving mysteries.
First and Second TAG Language Arts students will be studying the Mystery
genre. The mystery stories will be filled with suspense and contain a problem
to solve. Also the students will be working on the writing process as well as
vocabulary development.
Second Grade TAG Math students will explore the links between math and
literature. Incorporating children's books into math instruction will extend
problem solving, classification, relationships, patterns and math in the real
world.
