Grades will be on Infinite Campus this year. DRA scores will be given each six weeks. Homework is not graded but it is checked. I may put a 100 on the page, but these do not go in the gradebook. Math extensions are for children who need more challenging math concepts. Some may be pretty hard. They will not hurt your child's grade, they will be used for extra credit when children are successful. For instance, a packet coming soon for some will be about place value to the thousands place, knowing what each number stands for in its place. *******Flashlight Fridays: Your child may bring a flashlight to leave at school to read by on Fridays during DEAR time. Visit the Kodak gallery to see our class photo albums!!! http://www.kodakgallery.com/Welcome.jsp The address is at the bottom of our links pages also. Check out the Jim Davis: Garfield web pages. There is a lot to do and it is so kid friendly. The link is on our links page. I just got done e- mailing him. Your child can too! The picture of the schoolhouse next to the mailbox at the top right hand corner of the home page, links you to the Carol Holt website. This is handy when you need to check the menu. There are also great links at this website for parents and kids. Scroll down to the bottom and you can find out all kinds of things about MISD. If you need to call transportation, the names and numbers are right there. Put our class web site on your desktop and then link to Holt whenever you have a question about events, dates, times, PTA, school calendar, and much more. You have a question that the student handbook could answer but have misplaced yours....the whole handbook is right there! Be sure and sign the behavior/reading sheet every night and return it daily. I used to staple it into the pocket folder each week, but after a few weeks there are so many staples sticking out of the folder that the children tear their fingers. This year I am planning to just slip it into the left hand pocket. Just be sure it stays there and does not get taken out with other loose papers. Blazing a Trail Through Hearts and Minds...2008-2009
