FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
The tardy bell rings at 8:00. Each child should have already been to the locker, moved lunch clip, checked for Morning Work, put folder on his or her desk, and sat down when the bell rings ready to listen to the intercom for Morning Announcements from the Office. We do not bring water bottles because we have REAL books in our desk. We will have no less than 3 restroom breaks but in general we have about 5 opportunities to break. Can my child keep a sweater in the locker? Great idea--air conditioning gets cold sometimes. Can I eat lunch with my child? Having lunch with your child will be a special treat! Be sure to sign in at the Office and get a visitor sticker. Please remember the Food Service rules while in the building. Note: Siblings who visit should follow the same rules as all students in the cafeteria. Report cards have rankings not grades. I grade most of our work according to the 100 point/assignment system. The grade equivalent are as follows: 100--96 E Excellent 95--90 S+ Super (or check plus) 89--85 S Very Good (or check) 84--80 S- Good (or check) 79--70 N Needs Improvement (or check minus) 60--0 U Unsatisfactory (sad face) Can I walk my child to class in the morning? The MISD has issued updated guidelines. All adults who enter the building must go through the Office for an i.d. sticker before proceeding to any other location. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you. We must remember that these kinds of things are done in the interest of safety of our children. I thank you so much for your cooperation and good will. Library time is on the schedule now, beginning 9/10. Our regular day is Thursday. Please help your first grader remember to return books on the right day. We teach this as part of the Conduct grade. I'll put more information here on this page as soon as Mr. Campbell lets us know his expectations. Thanks!Any other questions? |
