Starting this week, you need to bring House of the Scorpion to class every day. You should NOT be reading ahead, as I have activities planned for the class that go along with the reading. You will also have a discussion guide to complete with each reading assignment that will not be distributed until the reading assignment is given.

There will be a quiz on November 5th.   It will be over grammar and e-errors.   E-error words are found on pages 10-15 in the Student Writer's Handbook.     All grammar we have gone over will be on the quiz.   This includes parts of speech, phrases   (verb, appositive, prepositional), independent/subordinate clauses, sentence types   (simple, compound, complex), identifying the subject/verb pair, and verb types (action, linking, helping).
