How is my child doing in math class?
I am open to meeting with parents at anytime throughout the school year to
discuss student progress and/or questions/concerns. My conference period is
5th period of everyday. (12:30-1:30 Please contact me via email or phone if

Are you teaching Algebra?
I am incorporating pre-algebra and algebra concepts into my lessons
throughout the year. I try to "shadow" the curriculum that the 7th & 8th
grade math teachers are teaching and adapt according to student need.

Why would my student have a failing grade in a resource class?
I never like for any of my students to fail. A resource class has
expectations that are similar to a regular class in that the student is still
responsible to turn in work on time and completed. I always give redo and
makeup opportunities for failed grades. I do informal assessments and
observations to determine if a student is failing due to lack of motivation
and responsibility or lack of understanding. If they are not understanding a
concept, I will reteach in a different learning style until they "grasp" it.
