What is an Academy?

A small learning community, comprising a group of students within the larger high school who take classes together, taught by a team of teachers from different disciplines who work as a team to integrate curriculum and personalize instruction.

Academies provide a college preparatory curriculum with a career theme, enabling students to see relationships among academic subjects and their application to a broad field of work. Opportunities for internships, mentoring, and involvement in career related student organizations foster college and career readiness for all students.

The list is posted in the hallway between the cafeteria and the gym. The list is also in all of the English IV classrooms.

1)     The academy listed in the grad program column is the only one that will be listed in the graduation program

You will be able to purchase a matching academy stole that may be worn at graduation for $15.  These will arrive in mid-May.

2)      Check the certificate academy/program column for accuracy. Certificates for all earned academy programs will be included with your diploma.
