Artistic Integrity, Plagiarism & Copyright:
Cedar Ridge Visual Art students will have a thorough understanding of artistic integrity and what constitutes visual and conceptual plagiarism.
As students explore ideas, they will be guided to create their own work so that is avoids duplication, redundancy, trite and overused images and sentimentality.
Students are not allowed to work:
· from published photographs
· from other copyrighted work
Our emphasis is drawing / creating from direct observation and from original source material.
Reference material reflects original and thoughtful compositional changes for their personal product.
Copyright issues are discussed with the students and they are made aware of the legal issues involved with working from someone’s published work.
