About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
Bonjour, This is my third year teaching at Cedar Valley Middle School. I will be teaching French IA/IB and Exploratory Languages this year. I love to learn languages and I hope to convey my passion for languages to all my students as well! I was born in Vietnam, grew up in Paris, France, and also lived in Alberta, Canada, where I taught French and Social Studies at the middle and high school levels. I also worked as a curriculum specialist and online course writer for educational agencies, as well as a French linguist for high tech companies. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Education in French Immersion Education from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning from the University of Toronto. Our family has lived in Round Rock since 2001. My husband Maina and I have three children: Ailisha (10th Grade at Westwood High School), Kirema (7th Grade at Cedar Valley Middle School) and Tyra (5th Grade at Great Oaks Elementary.) Our family loves to travel all around the world, especially to Canada, Europe and Kenya to visit our relatives. Every year in June, I take a group of students to Quebec City and Montreal. It is so much fun! Above is a picture in front of Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City. Thank you for visiting my website! I look forward to meeting my new students and seeing my returning students. We're going to have a great year in French and Exploratory Languages! Au revoir! Adios! Auf Wiedersehen! Mme Macharia
