Coats for Kids Drive
It's time for the annual NJHS Coats for Kids Drive. Help us meet our goal of collecting over 500 coats to help needy families this winter. Our campus collected the most coats of any Austin area middle school in 2008 ~ Help the us WIN the title again this year!
Clean out your closets! Bring new and gently used coats to your Advisory teacher Tuesday, November 10-Friday, November 20. The Advisory that collects the most coats at each grade level will win an ice cream party from the NJHS!
We will announce the winning Advisory during the announcements Monday, November 23.

NJHS Member Responsibilities
2009-2010
Your responsibilities as a member of the NJHS include:
· Attending NJHS meetings (held Thursday mornings the second week of the six weeks – watch the announcements; special meetings called as needed)
· Uphold the organization standards for Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Citizenship and Character
· Complete a minimum of 20 volunteer service hours
· Participate in at least one Cedar Valley NJHS service project (e.g. recycling, Coats for Kids, campus beautification day, etc.)
· Participate in at least one U.I.L. Academic event (Saturday, Feburary 20 at Deerpark Middle School)
· Pay $5.00 dues to Mrs. Hance prior to Monday, September 14, 2009. You may pay with cash or check payable to Cedar Valley (please speak with Mrs. Hance if dues cause a financial strain – scholarships are available).
