The coat drive for students will be kicking off soon. This provides jackets and
coats for students in the districts.
We have been very busy with school activities this last week. Check out the new picture page for the red ribbon week. I will be adding more pictures to the web page in the near future.

Our peer mentors have been working hard and the kids are loving them. They have been working hard on the bracelets and you can watch our commerical by going to the school home page and clicking on the Jags newscast. We had two super stars in the commerical. It generated a lot of sales for us. We will expanding the sale of the bracelets to two of our high schools. If you would like some, please let me know. The proceeds will be used to fund our community based trips and activities. We are planning a bowling trip before the holidays. We will be sending home information as it becomes available to us.
Thursday is our library day, we go to the library and one student picks a book and we sit in the reading area and read it as a class, if the library is busy we bring the book back to our classroom and read it. Some students check out books and take home, if your child does please be sure it is returned to us by the following Thursday.
We will be having our school store on Friday this week. This is another chance for the students to use the tickets they earn during the week. So don't be surprised what they may bring home with them. If you happen to eat at a fast food restaurant and get the toys in the kids meals and do not use them at home, we certainly could use them for our store. So before you toss them think of our class and our store.
The attendance period for this year is first period by 9:00 am. If your child is not at school before then they are counted absent. Also it is district policy that if your child has some kind on private therapy, that absence can be excused, but you must bring a note form the therapist every time they are out. Just as you do for a Doctor's appointment. If your child has to be out of school, please let us know in advance so we can prepare them to go home.
