Grading Policy for 8th Grade
Six weeks averages are calculated using the following assignment weights:
60 % -- Tests and major projects
40 % -- Daily work, homework, and quizzes
Grade Penalties for Late Work in 8th Grade:
1. Work is expected to be turned in on the day it is due.
2. In the event that a daily assignment or major project
is turned in late, the following grade penalties will apply:
* 20-point deduction the first day it is late
* 40-point deduction the second, third or fourth day it is late
* No credit will be given if the assignment or project is 5
or more days late.
3. If a student does not have an assignment on its due date and it
is graded in class, the assignment cannot be made up and the
student will receive a zero for the assignment.
