Tracey Redus
Tracey Redus is in her 6th year as head band director at Chisholm Trail Middle School. This is her 13th year teaching in Round Rock ISD. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1990 and her Master of Science degree in Music in 1992 from Radford University in Virginia. She studied Clarinet with Dr. Norman Todenhoft and conducting with Mark Camphouse. Prior to coming to Chisholm Trail, Mrs. Redus was assistant band director with the award-winning Grisham Middle School Band. She also served four years in the United States Navy Band as a clarinet/saxophone/vocal performer with various groups. Mrs. Redus is the mother of two boys, Kenny, age 6, and Timothy, age 3. Her husband, Wayne, works for Axcelis Corporation as a Field Service Manager. He is a constant source of encouragement and support. During her time in college she studied horn with Peter Rubins, was the Ensemble associate for three terms, Principal French Horn player, President of MENC chapter and in a professional music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. In SAI she was the Vice President for membership. She also played in the University's Jazz Band, woodwind quintet and was the music librarian. Since 2008 she has been working with Alamo Heights High School and Junior School and the Texas Bandmasters Association where her job is to help prepare for the annual convention/clinic in July. She has also had the pleasure of playing with the San Antonio Wind Symphony and the Ft. Sam MEDCOM Band. Ms. Gist is from San Antonio and with her comes her dog Bella. Ms. Gist loves to race her Trans Am and participate in outdoor activites.
Steven Roeder, percussion
Steve Roeder received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Southwest Texas State University. While at the University, Mr. Roeder was principle percussionist of the Wind Ensemble, section leader of the drum line, member of the percussion ensemble and steel band. In addition, he was the percussion instructor at Bowie High School, as well as a percussion clinician for various high schools across the state. Upon graduation, Mr. Roeder taught at Copperas Cove High School. Mr. Roeder is a member of TMEA, TBA and PAS. This is his 14th year of teaching and his 8th year at Round Rock High School. |
