About The Teacher

I am thrilled to be part of the Chisholm Trail community for my tenth year. 
In all I've taught eleven years, all in middle school.  I grew-up here in 
Austin, attended The University of Texas (I bleed Burnt Orange) and have 
lived here in Round Rock for twelve years.  
My wife, who I first met way back in 6th grade, also works in Round Rock as
Special Education teacher over at Canyon Vista. We have a wonderful daughter
who loves swim team, school and her cat, though not always in that order. I
have a son from a starter marriage who is 21 (wow, time flies).  He's in the
Army, currently stationed somewhere in sandy Iraq. He loves football, eating 
anything that won't move, and regularly threatens to buy a motorcycle. Yikes! 
Seriously, I am very proud of my son.  
In education, I have found my avocation.  I love teaching Language Arts,
especially, though not limited to, reading.  While I'll admit I'm a little
biased as a L.A. teacher, I believe there is no stronger method for improving
scholastically than reading.  Hopefully, I will instill this in your 
children.  
I look forward to the new year with what looks like a great group of kids.
