About Mr. Lowke:

Tim Lowke is in his nineteenth year teaching with Round Rock ISD and began working for the district in 1988.  Currently visual art teacher and Fine Arts Department Chair at Chisholm Trail Middle School, Tim has also taught at Westwood High School (1988), Purple Sage Elementary (1989-2000) and was a founding faculty member at Caldwell Heights Elementary (2000).  He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art Education in 1988 from the University of Texas at Austin and his Masters of Education in Education Administration in 1994 from Texas State University, San Marcos.
 
Along with his teaching duties, Tim also works as the Round Rock ISD Visual Art Curriculum Specialist.  His duties include providing support under the Director of Fine Arts to the district's elementary, middle school and high school visual art faculty at over 30 campuses through staff development delivery and planning, art programming, curriculum and community outreach initiatives.
 
In 2006, Mr. Lowke was named a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholar and as such, traveled with 199 other educators from across the United States to Japan in order to experience Japanese culture, society political and education system first-hand.
 
In addition to his time with Round Rock ISD, Tim also worked at the Austin Museum of Art as Associate Director of The Art School/Laguna Gloria where he oversaw curriculum, volunteers, daily school management and faculty.  He has served at Region IV Representative for the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) and has been a presenter at conferences locally, regionally, statewide and at the national level.  In addition to his school district duties, Tim continues as a faculty member with the Austin Museum of Art School working with adult learners.
 
In 2007, Mr. Lowke achieved National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certification and became a National Board Certified Teacher - Art / Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood.
 
Professional associations include Texas Art Education Association (TAEA), Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE), and an active member of The Austin Museum of Art.
 
Tim is married and has one daughter and two sons.
