My name is Tracy Montoya and I'm happy to say this school year will
begin my 11th year teaching in Round Rock ISD. UTEP, better known as
the University of Texas El Paso, is where I earned my Bachelors of Science
degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading.
My family and friends will tell you that teaching is my passion. I love
the kids and my job. Every new school year brings a new garden of students
that I get to help nurture, teach and grow. Seeing my old students return
to visit me is always a priceless gift that I look forward to each year.
My belief is that every student will be successful in my class.
Students will be respectful and kind to themselves and each other. They
will become great at problem solving and thinking for themselves. They will
develop a life-long love of learning and they will want to come to school.
My class will be a safe environment for them to grow, learn and bloom.
Now that I've shared my background and teaching philosophy I'll tell
you about myself. I'm 49 years young, married to a wonderful man named
Oscar and have three sons, as well as three step-kids. My oldest son, Ryan,
just graduated from Texas A & M. My middle son, Taylor, is a
sophmore at Texas A & M studying industrial distribution. My youngest
son, Clay, just graduated from McNeil and will attend ACC in the fall and
then transfer Spring sememster to the University of Arkansas for their
architecture program.
Next to spending time with my family & friends, I enjoy reading,
gardening, traveling, tubing, and going to the beach. I love anything
spicy, the hotter the better. My nickname is "Ellie Mae" because I seem to
accumulate critters. I usually have a smile on my face because I always try
to find the best in all situations.
Thank you for visiting our website. Hopefully this has helped you get
to know me a little better. I'm excited about this upcoming school year and
looking forward to meeting all of you, face to face.
Sincerely,
Tracy Montoya
