When can I come for tutoring or help with school work?

Please feel free to drop in on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday

afternoons after school, if you let me know you're planning to
come for tutoring.

How is homework graded?

Homework assignments are graded on an "effort" basis. If you
make a good-faith attempt to finish the assignment, you can
receive full credit.

What if I don't finish my work in class?

Any work not completed in class should be finished at home and
will be graded as usual (either daily grade or project grade).

Does effort count in grading?

Absolutely! If you try your best, your grades will reflect your
effort -- even if you don't finish an assignment.

How does our class reward system work?

Students earn tickets for class participation and SuperStars for
achieving our Guidelines (Caring, Respect, Effort, Attitude,
Teamwork, Enthusiasm). One class dollar equals 10 tickets or 5
SuperStars or a weekly 80% or higher in behavior. 90% or higher
in weekly behavior equals two class dollars. Students can use
class dollars to buy juice, healthy snacks, or prizes. Students
can also earn free time and choice activities.

What are the consequences for not meeting Classroom Expectations?

All students receive a "free warning" for the first non-
severe failure to meet expectations. After that, consequences
are applied for each successive failure to meet expectations.

1. Warning.
2. 5 minutes away from group.
3. 10 minutes away from group.
4. Phone call home.
5. After-school detention.

For severe violations of school or classroom rules, a student may
receive an office referral.

What should I do when I first enter the classroom?

Come into the classroom calmly.
Fill out your Agenda with the day's assignments.
Complete the class Warm-up or Journal writing.
Finish any make-up work or read quietly.

Come see me and tell me this answer to receive a ticket!

What if I fall behind in my work or don't understand the material?

Come see me! Don't let the work pile up on you. I'll be happy
to help, even if it's work for a class I don't teach you.
