About The Teacher
Hi! My name is Kathleen Wotring. I started working at Clayton the day they opened their doors for the first time six years ago. After two years as a language arts/social studies fourth grade teacher at Clayton, I had my second daughter and took some time off to care for her. I then returned to the fourth grade team as a science/math teacher for 2 more years. This year I will be one of two math teachers on our grade level. Before joining the Clayton family, I worked at Boone Elementary for 9 years. 7 of those years worked in a self-contained classroom where I taught all subjects. My last two years at Boone, I taught only science and language arts. I graduated with a BA from the University of Texas. Go Longhorns! My two daughters, Maddie and Savannah keep me very busy when not at work. Maddie, my oldest, just started 2nd grade at Valley View Elementary School. I've realized in the last couple of years how challenging it is to keep up with all of her school activities and mine too! My youngest daughter Savannah who is 4 year old, attends a pre-school close to my neighborhood. When not at work or with my girls, I can usually be spotted at the gym or lounging at the lake.
