Welcome to Mr. Spratt's Texas History website. I am extremely excited about
starting up my 5th year at Colleyville. Please feel free to stroll through
the site to find information regarding your child's schedule and
requirements for my class. If you can't find what you are looking for,
please do not hesitate to email or give me a ring.
If you'd like a bit of background on me here are some of the highlights.
I'm a south Texas native...I mean real south. I grew up in a bordertown
about 5 minutes from Mexico in a town called Mission. It's near
McAllen...not good enough...it's near Brownsville...still don't know
where...it is 240 miles south of San Antonio! My parents were both teachers
and my father has been coaching for what will be his 38th year coming up. I
am married to a teacher, her name is Elizabeth. She is a 4th grade teacher
in the Keller ISD. I have a 7 year old puppy dog named Penny and a 6 year
old devil cat named Mabel.
As for interests, I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking,
sports...you name it. I am coming off a major accomplishment this summer.
My wife and I hiked to the top of Mount Elbert. It is the highest peak in
the Rocky Mountains at 14,433 feet. It took us over 7 hours as we hiked
nearly 11.2 miles to the summit. My sports of choice are basketball and
golf, and I am a big Spurs fan. I am still celebrating our 4th NBA title,
which if you keep track of this type of thing is 4 more titles than the
Mavericks have, but I digress.
In addition to teaching, I also coach football, basketball, and track at
CMS. I have been fortunate in my previous years to have such hard working
young men on my teams. We are also fortunate to have a great fan base in
the parents, who support the boys programs at such a tremendously high
level.
Hope this bio gives you a better glimpse at the guy standing in front of
your kiddos for about 50 minutes a day. I also hope they come away with a
passion for the subject we cover. Take care...
