I was born in Ft. Worth, TX , and lived there until 2000 when I headed off to attend college at Abilene Christian University. I completed my Elementary Education degree in May of 2004. After moving around the country, including living in Pittsburgh, Cape Cod, and Cincinnati, I returned to Texas. I have worked in Pflugerville ISD since then. I was blessed to teach second graders for three years before becoming a Kindergarten teacher in 2011. This is my first year as a Barron Bear. It is an honor to help start this amazing new campus! Teaching is my true passion and I feel so blessed to spend each day with the amazing students that are in my room and to work with the amazing team of teachers on the Barron campus! Here is my wonderful team that inspires me to be the best teacher I can be:
I always enjoy learning more about teaching and spend a lot of my free time reading educational books and attending workshops. I also obtained my ESL certification in the spring of 2010.
Some of my career achievements include being published in seven different teaching articles, including being published on the Daily Five site, being nominated for Who's Who Among American Teachers two years in a row, Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2009 and most recently I was given the honor of Pflugerville ISD District Teacher of the Year on May 4, 2011.
My hobbies include scrapbooking, cooking, traveling, reading, and being outdoors my two little dachshunds.
