Hi,
I am really excited to start my 2nd year at Cross Timbers Middle School.
I have taught for a total of 15 years including 10 years at Martin High
School in Arlington. I have always taught English and Dance and high school.
I have been the drill director and I have also sponsored the cheerleaders.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelors in
Kenesiology, Exercise, Sport and Health Studies with a dance emphysis.
I have a Masters in Education Administration from Texas Woman's University.
I am truly lucky to be working at such an awesome school with a terrific
faculty. I am previledged to work also with my two sisters, Nancy Cummings
who teaches 7th grade language arts and yearbook and Beverly Swatzell who
teaches ESL. I think we are one of a few schools in Texas who have 3 sisters
teaching at the same school.
I have been married for almost 19 years to Bobby and we have two children.
Brenna who is a 2nd grader at Bear Creek Elementary and Bryan is a 7th
grader at Heritage Middle School.
Most days you will find me at my childrens activities. In the spring I
travel all over the state judging dance/drill team competitions for Showtime
International. My hobbies include going out to eat (Sushi is my favorite!)
and traveling (My family goes on at least one cruise a year) as well as
scrapbooking when I have time.
I believe all students can learn and behave appropriately. I want my
students to be successful, now and in the future. When we work together, all
students can acquire the exemplary education which Cross Timbers and GCISD
offers.
