| Intro to Art
Students will be introduced to Aboriginal Art. After watching a video, Australian Dreamings, students
will complete a worksheet. They then will do a preliminary sketch in their sketchbook of an Aboriginal-
style dot painting. They will be given handouts before that show different icons and their meanings.
Students will be encouraged to tell a story with their dot paintings. A demonstration and explanation of
a dot painting is given in the video, Australian Dreamings.
Exploratory Elective - Art

Art I
Students will finish tapestry weavings. The students who are finished with their weaving will create a
ceramic whistle. The whistle will take the shape of an animal.
Art II
Students will paint their ceranic flasks. After students are done painting the flasks, they will work on a
self-portrait done in the style of artist Chuck Close.
