Welcome! I am a native Texan and grew up in Fort Worth where I graduated
from Nolan Catholic High School. I graduated from the University of Texas at
Arlington with a B.F.A. I received my teaching certificate for all-level art
through the University of North Texas. I worked in the advertising industry
for eight years as an art director after graduating from college. In 1990, I
became a certified flight instructor. I taught flying to a wide variety of
students of all ages for three years at Decatur Municipal airport. My
husband Bob and I own a Cessna 140 aircraft. I met Bob because his father
was my flight instrucor. Bob and I have two grown children and two beautiful
grandchildren. During the summer, I am a substitute driver for Meals-on-
Wheels. I am also a member of the charitable organization, St. Vincent de
Paul.
I have the utmost respect for my students. I believe every child is able to
achieve in the art classroom regardless of "natural" talent. I also believe
every day is a day of work in my classroom.
