Classroom Expectations ESL 11/7th Reading/7th Language Arts
Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome to ESL 11 and 7th grade English. My goal is for us to have a successful year. In order for this to happen, I have included a list of expectations for the 2008-2009 school year.
Behavior:
*Be polite to your classmates and teacher at all times. *Be in your seat and ready to learn when the bell rings. *Complete all assignments. *Do your BEST work.
Consequences:
*Warning *Detention with a phone call to parents. *Conference with parent. *Referral to an administrator.
Helpful Information:
*Planners: 1. All students must have a planner to record daily assignments. Planners will be checked daily during Wolf Pack. 2. Planners will be used as a hall pass. Students must have a planner to exit the room (restrooms, locker...).
*Supplies: 1. Students must have a spiral, binder, pens/pencils and a red ink pen for class. 2. These supplies will be left in the classroom. Students must keep all papers, as indicated by teacher, in their binder.
Assignments:
1. All assignments will be posted daily. 2. Students are responsible for writing assignments in planners. 3. Warm-up exercises are on the board at the beginning of each class period. Students are expected to complete these in a timely manner. They must make all corrections during class review. 4. All class work must be finished and given to the teacher for a completion grade.
Grading Policy: 1. All work will be graded according to the following rubric: *Assessments (30%)- These include tests, quizzez and projects. *Daily Work (30%)- Daily assignments are important for completion. *Class Participation (25%) *Homework/Notebook (20%)
Tutorials: *Tutorials will be offered as needed.
