Background and Educational Philosophy:
I have recently joined Cross Timbers Middle School. I was a graduate of
Grapevine High School in 1997, I must say it is nice to be HOME.
I previously was a teacher at Hendrick Middle School in Plano, Texas.
I had taught sixth, seventh and eighth grade units in Life Management
Skills, Food and Nutrition, Exploratory and Special Education Skills
for Living. During my past few years I have really been able to come up
with some really creative and fun lesson plans. I have also recently
started on getting my masters and certification in business/keyboarding. I
look forward to getting to know each and everyone of your children this
year!
I believe that in all of my classes your child is learning a life long life
skill, from anywhere to learning how to type 30 words a minute to balance a
check book! If your child is able to walk away from my class and be able to
achieve a task learned I will feel like a I have done my job successfully. I
will work and strive to teach as many of these skills to my students so they
will be able to use them the rest of their lives. Using hands on projects
and experiences, I feel, are the best ways for students to learn, what I
will be teaching.
